The Weekend....that wasn't!

This morning Jeff and I were leaving for Lawrence, KS! Well, I am sitting at home and Jeff is there. Tomorrow is the Ironman 70.3 (which means the half ironman triathlon). Jeff will be 1 of the 1,500 competing. The competition includes 1.2 mi. swim • 56 mi. bike • 13.1 mi. run. If the race goes as planned, he will complete the race in 6 hours! This race is the big preparation for him to doing the FULL Ironman in August. That race is basically double the length of the half and only allows competitors 17 hours to complete it. Whew, not for me!
So, earlier this week I woke up with a bit of a stomach ache. I took the day off and just relaxed thinking it would go away. Well, by 8 pm I was losing my cookies....and more! Every half hour I was out of bed....all night long! Somehow I found the strength to make it to the doctor. He wasn't sure if I had a stomach virus or ate something bad. He sent me home with two kind of medicines. Within 30 minutes of taking those, they were back up! Ha! Today, I am finally on the mend, but still at home rather than in Lawrence. So, I'm rooting for Team Walt (that's my clever name for Jeff), from afar and via phone! I will post how he did and pray that I am done losing my lunch and being on a fun clear liquid diet!

Yuck. I hope you're feeling better soon.

And, wow....that's so cool that Jeff can do all that! Let us know how he did.

Hey Andrea!! I hope by the time you see this you are feeling much better. I am so glad that you posted a comment. We have been here in Sydney since February and plan to stay until mid-January--Damon will be done with his Masters by then. We are doing well and have an extra room if you want to make a trip Down Under!! As you can see from the blog there are lots of things to see and do. Tell Jeff "Hello". Let's try to keep in touch--it's been too long.
